Ja deletes ‘broke the code’ tweet on JP knee grab in Game 3 originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Ja Morant didn’t speak to the media after the Memphis Grizzlies’ 142-112 loss to the Warriors in Game 3 on Saturday night, but a now-deleted tweet he sent roughly 20 minutes after the game spoke volumes.

Morant appeared to suffer a right knee injury late in the game, and a short time later, Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins insinuated that Jordan Poole grabbing Morant’s right leg “triggered” the injury.

Morant shared a video of the play and wrote “broke the code,” referencing comments from Warriors coach Steve Kerr following Dillon Brooks’ Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 on Gary Payton II in Game 2.

The tweet was deleted soon after Morant originally posted it.

Each game of the Western Conference semifinals has had some sort of controversy, highlighted by the ‘dirty’ Dillon Brooks Flagrant 2 foul on Gary Payton II, adding an extra layer of spice to Game 4 on Monday with his return.

Morant limped out of the arena and his status for Game 4 on Monday night is unknown. But the Grizzlies surely will be fired up in less than 48 hours, just as the Warriors had an edge after Payton’s injury in Game 2.
